Hannah Bergbower is a double- board certified Nurse Practitioner and Nurse-Midwife Public Health Specialist.
She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Lakeview College in Illinois in 2010 , her Masters of Public Health from Indiana University in 2012, and her Midwifery and Women's Health dual degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia in 2018.
Between 2012-2018, Hannah completed a two year Fellowship in Global Clinical education from the Massachusetts General Hospital Center for Global Health and completed an international residency in New Zealand as a part of her training.
Hannah has spent most of the last decade focusing on programming and implementation of public health and clinical programs in vulnerable settings .
With extensive experience teaching and training, Hannah has held multiple academic and advisory committee appointments domestically and internationally. Her recent appointments include an Associate Adjunct Professor position at Tufts University School of Medicine and Associate Scholar appointment at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. She also participates at the Center for Global Health, March of Dimes MOM and BABY ACTION NETWORK National Advisory Committee and WGH/WHO Gender Equity Hub. She is a midwife member of American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and also American College of Nurse Midwives. Last fall she presented on Rohingya Refugee Crisis and the GLobal Role of the Midwife at University of Pennsylvania.
As our newest member of TEAM DOGA since November 2020, Hannah is a natural fit for our international community of patients. She especially enjoys surprising native Swahili and Bengali speakers with her own language skills having lived abroad in Tanzania and Bangladesh practicing midwifery.
Hannah is fearless, intelligent, compassionate and sweet. She is a really good listener and looks forward to delivering our babies soon at EmoryDecatur and Northside Hospital.
This January 2021, Hannah and Melika will launch BABY BRUNCH Childbirth Education Classes by invitation Fridays 10am-noon.
